Burnley - Drug Driver Court Results

Good afternoon,

Just to update you with another result from your Burnley Neighbourhood Police Team 

In November 2025, we arrested a male who had tested positive on a road side drug test and tried to make off from Police. The male driver had been driving at speed on Accrington Road and Rosegrove Lane

The same male was arrested yesterday for failing to appear at court 

Today, Jake Doney of an address in Colne has pleaded guilty to the following offences:

In addition to his car being crushed for not reclaiming it, he received a 36 month ban from driving

Other costs, fines and rehabilitation has been issued also

This level of dangerous behaviour will never be acceptable and costs lives

It has never been and will never be acceptable to drink or drug drive

We will not be commenting further on the specifics of this incident
